How to Build a Glasshouse - Other Designs

This design has brick for lower section of walls. Timber wall plates are
bolted to top of these dwarf walls and glasshouse is then built on to
wall plates. Construction consists of timber comer posts and top plates
braced together at corners. Gable ends are framed in timber secured to
ridging; ends are covered with hardiplank or other rot resistant
material.
Glazing bars for roof span from ridging to wall plate and similarly
glazing bars for the walls, span from top plate to bottom plate. Display
shelves for pot plants are made from 75 mm by 25 mm timber decking fixed
to supports bolted to the framework.
